Overview

The Science House Girls Collaborative Project (TSHGCP) brings together organizations from across North Carolina that are committed to informing and motivating girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). In the three years of the grant we hope to expand the collaborative to include South Carolina.

As an extension of the ongoing work of The Science House at North Carolina State University, the collaborative will provide many opportunities for individuals in the region to meet or reconnect, learn about each other’s work, and develop ways to work together to better serve girls and young women in STEM in the southeastern United States. The Science House’s focus on inquiry-based, hands-on learning of science and mathematics will be a close fit to the grassroots nature of The Science House Girls Collaborative as representatives from various organizations, businesses, and educational institutions in the region come together in person at TSHGCP events and through mini-grant projects, and virtually through the TSHGCP Web site, videoconferences and listserv.
